Lately we've been going out to Antelope Flat to fish for big fat spawning rainbows. Well actually Huntley falls asleep on the drive out so Chris fishes while I watch from the truck with the sleeping baby. Not that I mind because I love watching him fish, picture Brad Pitt on River Runs Through It. Anyways for Chris's birthday he wanted to go fishing and he wanted a pic with him, Huntley, and a fish. Of course of all the nights Huntley stayed awake the wind had to be blowing like a hurricane and the Gorge resembled the ocean. Huntley hates the wind and I hate the affects the wind has on Huntley. In order to fulfill Chris's birthday wish we sat in the truck and watched him catch a monster bow, left the truck to go see the fish and have his dream picture. The only bad thing was the pic struggled since I was hurrying and Huntley was more fascinated with the fish then smiling for the camera. At least we gave him what he wanted, mabey next year will be a little more idealistic.

The End is Here
The past few days have been pretty eventful. Chris finished the trapping season by getting these thee cats in three days. Of course Huntley and I are his lucky charms because the day we went with him he caught two cats in one day. Now he just has the fun part of getting them all stretched and ready for the fur trade. He's already planning on buying a nice big tv but unfortunately for him he still has the pig to pay for, there's always next year.

Foxes, Foxes, and more Foxes
I guess this year is going to be all about the red fox. Three of these guys were trapped in the same night. Chris was pretty excited about that, too bad they weren't kitties. So far Chris has trapped 5 red fox and 2 cats. There is also a lion that has been messing with one of his traps and killed two of the foxes. It also stepped in one of the traps but it triggered off too slow. Chris was bummed but I was pretty relieved.

Red Fox
Second cat of the season
Trapping has been a lot harder this year now that we have Huntley. At the start of the season Chris would take Huntley while I was at work, quality father daughter time. Now that it is colder he had to improvise. Most of his traps are set up with bright orange flagging. If the trap goes off the flagging moves out of view. This way he can take Huntley to check traps and never have to leave the truck unless he got something. The strategy worked pretty well for this pretty cat.
